The Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) has recently renewed its use of the VV Approach (VVA) course for training their Air Traffic Control (ATC) students. This decision marks the continuation of a fruitful partnership with our esteemed colleagues at HKCAD, who initially began leveraging VV software in 2012. We look forward to observing the enhanced training outcomes made possible by the added advantages of our cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS).
UniSA to use VV Enroute in Air Space Management course
This year, the University of South Australia (UniSA) has chosen to incorporate VV Enroute into their Air Space Management curriculum. VVE will offer students a realistic glimpse into the responsibilities of Air Traffic Control within a surveillance environment. We are excited to collaborate with the highly skilled UniSA team to create an engaging and enjoyable learning atmosphere that fosters a comprehensive understanding of the role.
PhilSCA Induction

Academic staff (above) at the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA) in Metro Manila were today inducted into the delivery of the VV Enroute course, which will be incorporated into degree programs.
The course was coordinated by Engr. Adrianne Astadan of 1Aero Supplies and Trading and Ruffa Paycana of PhilSCA. It was delivered by Visual Vectoring's representative, Engr. Joy Cosme Amores, Jr. Topics covered included course curriculum, simulator setup, observing simulator performance and managing performance data. We look forward to working with the instructors to ensure students gain the maximum benefit from our technology.
Air Traffic Solutions at the Saudi Airport Exhibition

In addition to showcasing their range of expert Air Traffic Management Services, this week our partners at Air Traffic Solutions are presenting VV technology, including our new LMS, at the Saudi Airport Exhibition. See them at stand 5112. Thanks to Mike Lockwood and John Ruttiman for their great support.
VV Enroute to be used at PhilSCA

Next week, the VV Enroute™ training program will be installed at the Pasay campus of the Philippine State College of Aeronautics. This is the second university in the Philippines and the fifth in the region to make use of Visual Vectoring technology as part of aviation degree programs. Thanks to Adrianne Astadan of 1Aero and Engineer Joy Cosme Amores for facilitating the launch of this product.
LMS Development nears completion

After more than two years of development, the VV Learning Management System (LMS) has been launched and is in final stages of testing. This technology allows our formative courses in ATC surveillance control to be delivered and supervised remotely. Performance records are uploaded into the cloud-based LMS for performance management and review. Students may be monitored and mentored using the built-in teleconferencing system. And features such as gamification, leaderboards and forums provide motivation and a sense of community.
In addition to the delivery of our existing and emerging courseware, this technology has the potential to be used for bespoke refresher training offerings and as a selection tool.

Development of Simulation for CAD Timor Leste
The VV Team is developing simulation for ATC staff at CAD Timor Leste, as part of a transition to new airspace and route structures.
The simulator includes options for standalone, semi-standalone and full networked delivery, and uses speech recognition to reduce the workload for pseudo-pilots. Training will be delivered by the expert team at Air Traffic Solutions.

VVD Primer Demonstration
This is a short movie demonstrating the Primer functionality that has been incorporated into the VV Simulator and included as part of the upcoming VV Departures course. The student is required to complete ATC actions and interface updates to an on-screen script. This promotes prompt and accurate HMI, and reinforces the use of correct phraseology and procedural knowledge.
VV Departures Development
The development of VV Departures, an add-on to the VV Approach course, is nearing completion. This product teaches the management of departing SID traffic of varying performance, with complexity increasing as airspace restrictions and arriving aircraft are added into the simulation. The formulation of Release Approvals, prioritization, coordination separation, and Interface skills are the key learning outcomes of the product.
A release is expected in September 2021.
Third VV installation completed in China

Subject matter experts have completed a third installation of VV course-ware in China, which included both the VV Approach and VV Enroute programs.
After the successful induction of local trainers in Chengdu, a relaxing time was enjoyed at a local teahouse (above).
