The Future-Oriented Air Traffic Controller Capacity Building Workshop was held last week as part of regular seminars associated with the ICAO Asia and Pacific region.
The workshop, held at the Ritz Carlton in Tianjin, was hosted by the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and the Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC).
Congratulations to Dean Liu (above) who was part of the organising team and gave a presentation on the TULIP adaptive learning environment. Many other aspects of cutting-edge ATC training technologies were discussed, including competency-based training the use of big data.
The event culminated in the 4th Annual Air Traffic Control Officer’s Skills Competition (below), in which expert staff from the regional Air Traffic Management Bureaus (ATMBs) were quizzed on their knowledge of ATC documents and procedures, and their level of English language proficiency. The major prize was handed out by Mr Yan Xiaodong to the winning team from the East ATMB.
Thanks very much to Ms Ivy Liu of Beijing Connected Vision Technology (BCVT) who represented Visual Vectoring at the event. Congratulations to all the organisers and delegates for planning and participating in this amazing event.
