PhilSCA’s innovative collaboration with Visual Vectoring: enhancing aviation education for the future

Using VV Enroute to target aviation communications in the Air Traffic Control environment

The Philippine State College of Aeronautics is a public university providing professional and advanced technical instruction and training in the preparatory fields of aeronautics and in the liberal arts. Degree programs are offered in Aeronautical Engineering, Flying, Aircraft Maintenance, Electronics, Security Management, Logistics and Aeronautical Management.

In 2019, as part of an initiative to add more value to their courseware, the Aviation Communication Program Coordinators, Ruffa Paycana and John Michael Sese, reached out to Visual Vectoring to explore the potential integration of our technology. A key focus was on the role of the English language in aviation communications and the provision of hands-on experience in Air Traffic Control operations.

After a positive trial phase, some customisations were made to our VV Enroute (VVE) product, ensuring its alignment with PhilSCA’s requirements. Starting in 2023, VVE has became a fundamental component of various degree programs at the university. Students engage with the program in a dedicated on-campus computer lab, while instructors employ the VV Management software to monitor progress and assess performance.

We extend our gratitude to Ruffa Paycana and John Michael Sese and look forward to working with them to enhance the value of our technology for PhilSCA’s courses.
