The DCANSP provides a range of complex ATS services in the Curaçao FIR, including high-level surveillance enroute/area control, as well as approach and tower services for Curaçao International Airport and Flamingo International Airport.

Topics discussed included current global challenges in ATS training, such as evolving learning styles, staffing pressures, recruitment, retention, and ongoing modernisation across the industry. Discussions also explored approaches to foundational and competency-based controller training, including the use of simulation and scenario-based learning for events requiring specific operational responses. Potential future collaboration was also discussed, including the localisation of training exercises, the possible use of a learning management system for internal training, and opportunities to support approach and cross-training pathways.

The meeting was held in the iconic DCANSP building (below).
