Visual Vectoring Managing Director Michael Rowland recently visited the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) and its Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) to discuss air traffic control training, operational modernisation, and simulation-based learning.

During the visit, Michael toured TTCAA’s operational facilities and met with training and operational personnel at CATC. Discussions covered current ATC training challenges, including staffing, evolving learning styles, and the integration of modern technologies into established training programs.

The TTCAA team provided an overview of its training activities for both local and overseas air navigation service providers (ANSPs), as well as developments in surveillance and air traffic management technologies.

As part of the visit, Michael demonstrated Visual Vectoring’s training methodology of lesson, demonstration, and practice using elements of the VVEnroute course. Scenario-based exercises were also demonstrated, including compromised separation events and emergency response training.

Visual Vectoring is currently completing localisation work to align training content with TTCAA operational procedures and phraseology ahead of further evaluation activities with instructors and students.
